Romans 8:28 tells us that G-d causes all things to work together for good to
those who love G-d, to those who are called according to His purpose. In our
sidra this week we see the life of Joseph demonstrating G-d's sovereignty.
From Joseph's point of view it didn't look like G-d had his best interest in mind.
He was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused and
imprisoned. It looked like everything that could go wrong was going wrong. It
would have been easy for him to fall into depression, loose hope and give up.
But he didn't, he kept looking to G-d throughout the chaos. He knew whom he
believed in. He believed he was right where G-d had placed him, because of
this he was able to extend forgiveness to his brothers and save the future
nation of Israel.
