Parsha Noach
Torah - Gen. 6:9 - 11:32
Apostolic - Matt. 3,4
Haftarah - Isa. 54:1-55:5
Noah is a story of Tikkun Olam which means restoring or fixing.  It is
getting to be like Noah's days more and more.  So what can you do
about it?  Work on restoring your world.  Be like Noah.  Listen to G-d,
obey His commandments and don't worry about the opinions of other
people.  The first command was to be fruitful and multiply.  It is the
same message Yeshua left with his talmideen\m.  Go forth and duplicate
yourselves.  Make disciples.  Fill the earth with those like you.  Noah
wasn't a perfect person but he was faithful and obedient.  He withstood
all the jeering and because of his faithfulness we are here.  Who will
tell your story of faithfulness?  Restore your world and be faithful.

As G-d observed humanity in the days of Noah, He was saddened to see
the rampant wickedness of His creation.  Each time we sin, no matter
how private or personal we imagine the sin to be, we contribute to the
destruction of the world.  Sin begets judgement.  G-d could have just
shut the earth down and start with a new creation.  But, He chose to
try to fix the world.  Whenever we apply our efforts to doing good by
alleviating human suffering, standing up for justice, making peace in the
midst of strife and choosing to do right stead of wrong, we are fixing
the world.
